Eli Hop yoyo trick instructions

Check out a video and description of the Eli Hop yoyo trick.

This trick makes a great visual impression. To summarize the trick, you’re basically throwing a Trapeze and then hopping the yoyo off the string and back onto it. You can do it as many times as you want, or just once. Start with a standard Trapeze (where you throw a Breakaway and land the yoyo on the string while it is still spinning). Now, pull your hands apart and pop the yoyo up into the air, but as soon as the yoyo flies upward, bring your hands back toward each other to give the string some slack. This will prevent the yoyo from waking up and popping you in the knuckles. Now, let the yoyo come back down and land on the Trapeze again.

The biggest problem you’ll have with learning this trick is not giving the yoyo enough slack when you pop it up into the air. I busted myself in the knuckles dozens of times trying to learn it. If you don’t have the Trapeze perfected, it can be difficult to catch the yoyo on the string several times in a row without missing.

See the video.
