This is what I ended up buying in my quest to find a great bearing yo-yo for LOOPING. I had been trying to learn two-handed with TBBs, ProYo IIs and Technics, but my left hand just didn’t do well. I cranked out more than 10 lefty loops the day after getting these bad boys. They loop fairly fast but they’re great loopers, some of the best I’ve ever used. The gap on these is tiny, so string tricks are kinda hard but you can do them. If you’re looking to loop, this yo-yo is a great one to use.

I was somewhat skeptical about this yoyo from the first time I saw it! I did like the Blue Color, that was used in the production process, which to me, is more of a shade of Turquoise and very appealing to the eye. The string gap is “very tiny” and the bearing itself “looks” to be smaller…but upon unscrewing the yoyo halves, I found that the bearing is somewhat recessed in each half, which is what gives the appearance of a smaller bearing. You have to be careful about widening the string gap on the Hurricane. It doesn’t take much adjustment…and the string is “between the bearing and the yoyo half” and will cause the string to break rather quickly upon continued use. The Hurricane is advertised as a “Super Looping Yoyo”. This is what I wanted to find out…was it really as good as was advertised. When it comes to Yoing…I consider myself a “rookie”, therefore you experts out there will have to bear with me on my opinions, as I am trying my best to give a fair analysis from my “rookie” point of view. If I can do 100 loops with any yoyo…I consider it a “good” looper and a big achievement for me. I have a small piece of masking tape on all my yoyos which I use for looping…and on them, I put the number of loops I have done with that particular yoyo. I am not coordinated enough to be doing two handed loops, so I just test them for myself…right handed. Upon testing the Hurricane I found that it was necessary for me to “double wrap” the string on the bearing in order for it to loop well. I found I had to work “harder’ with the loops on the Hurricane than I do with my wooden yoyos…but it’s usually the end result that counts, no matter how hard you work to achieve your goal, and my goal was to check out this “advertisement hype” on the Hurricane being a “Super Looping Yoyo”. I’ll have to admit…They’re Right! And on the side of mine, I have a little piece of masking tape with the number 223 written on the side of it. This is the reason I purchase most of these yoyos. I want to see if they are giving us a bunch of “bull”…and if they are…they’re going to hear about it, at least from this “rookie.” I hear of people doing 400 + loops…and I hope someday perhaps I’ll be able to achieve that many. I really don’t see how they do it…as the string was entirely “un-twisted” when it went “limp” in my hand.
