The Spintastics Technic is a take-apart wooden axle yoyo designed for competition. It feels almost identical to the Playmaxx Pro Yo, and performs very similarly. However, it has the advantage of having a lower price than the Pro Yo! Also, you can buy a Spintastics Tornado bearing kit and upgrade your Technic to a Tornado. So if you’re low on cash and want two yoyos for a cheaper price, that’s always an option. I slightly prefer the Pro Yo to the Technic, but I’d be happy with either yoyo. The Technic is an incredible looper, and easy to catch on the string for a non-butterfly. It sleeps well for a wooden axle yoyo. It’s good for string tricks, except that it obviously slows down a lot faster since it doesn’t have a ball bearing. Every serious yoist needs to own a Pro Yo or a Technic, or both.

If you want something really inexpensive to do loops with, this would be the yo-yo to get. Excluding the TBB, this is my favorite looper and it performs very well. The only thing is that you have to use it a little to wear the string down, otherwise it’s fairly hard to loop more than a few times. It’s lightweight and has a wooden axle, so it’s not much for string tricks (though Man on the Flying Trapeze is possible). For the money it’s worth it.

There’s a used bookstore in town that was selling yo yos for half price, so i picked up a spintastics tornado. it was pretty good, but i found it a bit unresponsive if looped 2 times ’round the axle, and unsleepable if looped 3 times. so i went back and picked up a technic, and what a difference! i’m still a beginner, but right out of the package, i could do things with the technic that i couldn’t do with the tornado…i guess the tornado is more for advanced yoists. i could make the technic sleep & wake, loop it inside and out about 5 or 6 times in a row, do around the world, etc… i realize these are all simple tricks, but for a beginner, it’s important to feel like you’re learning, and the technic did this for me. i highly recommend it to beginners and advanced yoists alike. plus mine glows in the dark!

This yo is a wooden axle yo it is made out of plastic and has neat design on the pogs. I think this yo is too light for me. Personally to loop I prefer the proyo 2 but this is a nice yo. It is all right, it is a good looper and it sleeps ok but I would not get this to loop and for a wooden axle sleep machine. I would again pick up a proyo 2. This yo is in expensive and I think thats good because you can pick it up cheap to see if you like it and if you dont well you have not paid a lot anyway. I have slept this for about 10 seconds but I am not A light yo lover I like quite a heavy yo and this is not heavy. but if I was you I would pick up a proyo 2 for a dollar extra I think it is a better deal. But then again i have one with special pogs on I will never get rid of. But I think i would go with the regular design because I prefer it.

The spintastics technic is as it was voted a good all around yo-yo and indeed it is. I love it it loops like wild fire loops loops and more loops there is just no end to how well these things loop. Also spin time is not a problem with this yo-yo. Considering it is only a wood axle yo-yo and is extremely light it is a tremendous spinner. Now I think I’ve had this yo-yo spinning for up to 24 seconds I might have had the proyo 2 spinning for up to 27 seconds but I am not sure. The reason why I brought the pro-yo 2 into this is because it is similar in performance to the technic. I think the pro yo 2 is slightly heavier than the technic and just like lars I would slightly ( ever so slightly ) prefer the pro-yo 2 to the technic but id be ok with either. Any way back to the technic as I say it spins well and loops very well and now for string tricks. Is this yo-yo good for string tricks? Yes, I was actually surprised at the smoothness of the technic for string tricks. It isn’t really smooth but you cant blame it because it has a wood axle I only loose about 2 or 3 seconds spin time when I’m doing braintwisters and other different types of string tricks. I would say it beats its big brother the tornado on string tricks any day. You can upgrade the technic with the ball bearings from the tornado. But I wouldn’t because I like the technic the way it is. Also I think this yo-yo glides smoothly because the wooden axle is over a metal axle so this cuts down on the friction of the spin time an awful lot. Oh and I truly recommend this one for beginners. If you started of on an x-brain and you think your ready to move of it to go on to advanced tricks then the technic is the one you must start with! Now I’ve heard you can buy different side pogs for your technic because I must admit I hate the side pogs that the technic comes with they are dead boring. You can pop the side pogs off quite easy all you have to do is this. Unscrew the halves then get either a long stick or an audio plug. Then just push it through the hole where the spacers are. Then just push hard and the side pogs should come off quite easy. You can also buy the technic in a variety of different colours too. Mine’s purple with silver side pogs which I will probably change soon. Anyhow the technic is one yo-yo you just must get! Happy spinning!
