Simply put, it is an amazing yo yo that makes string tricks easier to hit due to the large gap created with the double bearing system and the turbo disks bring back the yo yo when you want it to come back. I have many yo yos and this one is a must-buy at its price. It reminds me of the Bumble Bee GT but better.

I am going to review the Great White Shark and I want to say that I have a lot of high class yoyos. Freehand, Renegade, SSCB, Hyperwarp wing… I want to say that I like this yoyo some what. I think it is a very strange idea. It is very light (i don’t like that much) which doesn’t help the sleep time. I would not compare this to a Freehand at all. Nor a renegade. Do I think it is smooth? Very. Smoother than the Freehand? Maybe a little bit (barely noticable). Does it sleep long? I don’t think it out sleeps the Freehand. Is it the best Spintastics yoyo? Yes. Is it the best string trick yoyo? No. Why? It doesn’t sleep long enough, it has some kick-back, it is light. I think this is a pretty decent buy for 18 dollars but I would take the Freehand over this thing anyday. This is just my opinion and others may disagree.

The Great White falls into the Bantam or rather the Intermediate, weight class for yoyo’s, at a rather light 50.2 grams. (much too light to my liking) which is approximately 10 grams lighter than it’s predecessor, the Tigershark. (which weighs approx. 60g.) Although it does come with the “beefcaked” configuration (2 bearings, side by side) plus 2 Friction Stickers installed, the GW’s “out-of-the-Box” performance, I found to be rather average and quite disappointing. The selling price of $18-$22, IMO was also a tad high, as well. The GW, in all aspects, (IMO) does not come close to the playability of the “PAT” nor the “FreeHand”. I thought perhaps by adding more weight, and making it heavier, I might be able to achieve better performance from it. I first removed the 2 small “O” rings, and left them out completely. (whose specific function appears to be nothing more than keeping all parts intact). I retained the original metal weight rings as they were, and I then took 2 rubber “O” rings, from a Henry’s Lizard, and cut them down in size, making them smaller so they would fit tight and snug just below the already installed weight rings. By doing this, it has increased the weight to 59g. and surprisingly enough, has also improved the overall performance more so than what it was originally…without disturbing the balance in any way whatsoever. I’m sure some will think this is the “greatest” player on the market. For their style of play, perhaps it is. My only suggestion is…try it…”before”… you buy it.

Ok, the yoyo I am reviewing is the Great White made by Spintastics. First off, it’s a white butterfly yoyo. It’s about 1/4 of a inch shorter than the freehand. The white color is awesome since if you put LED lights in it it will glow. I think these yoyos dye very well since it is white but then again it wouldn’t be “great white” anymore. The guts of the yoyo is a beefcake mod done to a tshark. There are the little black o rings underneath the spacers. The two spacers and the two bearings. It still uses the same bolts but it has a different axle. I think it’s a little longer than the regular tshark axle. Regular tshark bearings cannot fit over this axle. The only bearings that can fit over it is the bearings that come with the GW. The bearings are a silver color that isn’t red capped. The gw bearings are smaller than normal tshark bearings. that’s why there is two bearings in it :) the response system of this godly-like yoyo are the awesome grey friction discs. Two friction disc are in this yoyo, if there wasn’t two of them the yoyo wouldn’t respond back to your hand. I believe no other respond system would work. Maybe turbo discs with glue over them but it would not mach the playablity of the GW. The discs last a VERY long time unlike the friction disc eater freehand. I have had my GWs for 2-3 weeks now and there finally getting to the black fabric. So that’s a plus with this yoyo. It don’t use it up like the freehand playbility -one word : AWESOME!!!!!!! this yoyo is the best I believe! I love this yoyo so much. It’s so smooth on the string when doing sidestyle tricks and I can combo it to a lot of frontstyle unlike other yoyos that don’t do that. frontstyle was no problem at all! Anyone who would get this would be happy. Then again maybe not. I still use all my other yoyos. The freehand is the only competition besides maybe the patriot but I haven’t tried that yoyo yet so I don’t know how good that will be up to the GW . u can get this yoyo right out of the box (if your ordering it from online) u can just whip it out and yoyo right away! there was only 2 incy wincy problems . #1 if u are a freehand user and just switched to this yoyo u will be angry because the the GW is light, even if u put gade rings in it will become unstable and shake uncontrollably and the string will shark and turn. So don’t add weight to it. Unless u add the team losi rings on it something. #2 throwdown- when I yoyo I sometimes whip the yoyo down .. this yoyo seems do have a back thing where it goes down more. I haven’t noticed this though. #3 wind up- if the friction discs are starting to where down and when you flick it up to return it , it might not come back up. This made me a little angry since the friction stickers were half away from becoming black fabric I didn’t understand why though. It didn’t bother me though. Just replace the discs or keep yoyoing till there dead then see if you can put glue over them and see if the mod will work. I am going to. This yoyo is by far the best yoyo I have ever yoyoed with beside its competitor, the Freehand. It is soo smooth on the string. It handled lacerations very well and suicides were mediocre. I love doing slack string tricks with this particular yoyo . just give this yoyo a chance freehand users.. and come into the Spintastics side of yoyoing….
