I’ve had this yo a few days now so it’s pretty much broken in now, I’m starting to get used to it so it is the best time to write a review. So here we go….. When I got my Eclipse I got it out of the package I read all the info and just looked at the yo!
I really like the colour and graphics, much, much better than the old Spintastics stuff. Many people at my local juggling club said it was really cool looking and as they don’t yo it’s got to look good!. I got to say hats off to the Spintastics designers they did a good job this time.
On to the important stuff…..how it plays……Well in a word good! The Eclipse takes many layers of string, back spin, slack string, whips, suicides and comes back for more! ![]()
I really like the fact that you can change the weight really easily on this yo. You can get it just right for you (well I could any how). I like a bit of weight on this yo for some reason so I put in the metal weight rings provided, they took a bit of time to go in and younger kids may need help but as this yo is not ment for begginers this is not really a problem.
I had heard that this yo had a bit of a wobble. It does but not to the point where it got on my nerves, it still plays fine and I would not let this small wobble put me of getting one.
The new spacers are much, much better than the old tigershark ones, the string can NOT slip of the bearing and no more crappy rubber O rings that stop you doing it up easily. Sorry but I really did not like that idea on the TS4 but there all gone now so thats all right. ![]()
The response system as you all probably know uses the Duncan Friction stickers which has it good and bad points but over all I like them. The Eclipse only needs one Friction sticker as it has starbursts on the other side. One small point is that with different weight and different worn Friction stickers in you may find it hard to get the responce you want as this yo does not have a AGS feature. But some people find AGS annoying so I guess its what you like, personally I don’t mind.
This yo is one of my favourate A yoyos, with a little bit of time working out whats best for you you can get this yo to do almost anything (almost cos this yo is one of the worst for looping, but what do you expect for a yo that was designed for advanced string tricks ( and advanced it does!!!
)).
GO GET ONE no make that 2

I’ve been yo yoing for some time now, and until becoming part of the internet yo-yo community I was completely unaware of the wonderful yo-yos available to us all, like this one. The Eclipse by Spintastics is with out a doubt the best of the Spintastics line, and maybe the best out of every company for that matter. It’s shape is a round butterfly, which feels great in the hand. Included with the Eclipse were many different weights that you can use. It came with gold metal weight rings on it already, but you can add rubber, metal ,or both weights inside, so it can have I think 5 different weights. I found this yo yo to have some of the best response ever (one friction disc), while still being just as smooth as any of the other string trick yo yos (Matrixx, Freehand 2). This is also one of the best sleeping yo-yos I have tried. And looping IS possible, but it’s just not meant for it. This is the best yo yo I own and have tried.
