The Pro Yo GT is the butterfly version of the outstanding Pro Yo II. As such, it has all the best characteristics of the PYII like extremely smooth throws and spins, and wonderful responsiveness even under very low spin rate. It is shaped exactly like the Bee GT and is slightly heavier than the Pro Yo II. These new characteristics combine to give the PYGT more energy for a slightly longer spin time, more stability for string tricks, and resistance to slow down during mounts.
The integrated wood axle and brake discs gives it smooth sleepers and responsive play just like a PYII. Hence it does Warp Drive far too well for a butterfly. The butterfly shape makes string tricks easier. Mounts are easier, and the chance of messing up dismounts is reduced. Catching the groove is easier for string mounts, splits, and underpasses. And the greater energy of its spin allows you more somersaults during tricks. However, the same axle system also makes it less than perfect for string tricks. In my case, I have problems with the string catching during intricate mounts, which I experience both on the II and the GT. If there are tricks that give you trouble on the PYII, you’re likely to see the same on the GT, and vice versa. For hobbyists who love the feel of wood axles, enthusiasts refining their skills, and serious yoists mastering the ultimate yo-yo challenge, the Pro Yo GT is the versatile trick yo-yo for showing off and for serious practice and play.
